Dr. Carolyn Mathews coaches clients who want to enhance their success by making positive changes in their behavior. As a coach for , an executive coaching firm with offices in Seattle and New York, Carolyn approaches her work with clients from a strengths-based perspective, allowing people to use the talents and skills that come naturally to them. This encourages clients to articulate meaningful goals, create strategies, and act in a manner that aligns with their values – all to ensure lasting results.

 

After obtaining a Masters Degree in communications, Carolyn built a corporate career with a variety of companies including Subaru of America, Merrill Lynch, and a division of the Rover Company. Later, after earning a doctoral degree in psychology from the Washington School of Professional Psychology, Carolyn chose an unusual professional route by exploring the intersection of positive psychology and the corporate environment. This unique blend of professional communications and psychology experience enables Carolyn to work well directly with executives, while appreciating the complexities of the organizational system.

 

Carolyn's professional goal is to see her clients thrive professionally and personally in all stages of their lives. She specializes in working with accomplished executives and industry specialists who choose to establish a personal and professional sustainable legacy that brings purpose and direction to their lives. In addition, she helps organizations develop programs for pre-retirees to prepare them for the transition to what follows their full-time career, from knowledge sharing through to legacy development.

 

When not working, Carolyn loves to research, design, plant, and harvest her edible landscaping in the city. She cultivates her passion for learning through participation in many professional organizations such as International Positive Psychology Association, International Coach Federation, and Center for Creative Leadership. She is a member of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce and a Cancer Lifeline support group facilitator, working with those affected by cancer.
